No one injured in church fire on Monday

At 2:35 p.m. Monday, Jan. 21, Round Rock Fire Department units responded to a report of a building fire at Grace Presbyterian Church, 1705 Gattis School Road.

The first Fire Department units arrived at 2:39 p.m. and encountered a moderate amount of smoke pushing out of the eaves of the roof.

The church also houses a daycare that was not operational at the time of the fire.  No injuries were reported.

One fourth of the structure was gutted and the remaining suffered minor to moderate smoke damage.

The fire was contained at approximately 3:03 p.m. and totally extinguished by 3:30 p.m. The last Fire Department units cleared the scene at 8:02 p.m.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Round Rock Fire Marshal’s Office.
