After multiple rounds of heavy rain earlier this week, Round Rock received between 2-3 inches of rainfall on May 5 and 6. A Flash Flood Warning was issued Tuesday and Brushy Creek was flowing high, prompting multiple low-water crossings throughout town.
Residents are reminded to stay aware during potential severe weather by signing up for alerts at warncentraltexas.org, enabling Wireless Emergency Alerts on your phone, following local news and keeping a NOAA weather radio handy.
And while our local creeks may have filled up, regional water sources—like Lake Georgetown and Lake Travis—are still well below normal. Residents are encouraged to continue employing conservation measures as an important part of Round Rock’s overall water strategy.
