Police Department promotes five

The Round Rock Police Department announces the promotion of five sworn staff members. The five were recognized at a promotional ceremony on Friday, Jan. 10, at the Round Rock Public Safety Training Center. 

Jim Stuart has been promoted to Assistant Chief. Stuart has been with the Round Rock Police Department since 1988, most recently serving as supervisor over the Criminal Investigations Division. Stuart replaces Assistant Chief Alain Babin, who retired in November after 25 years of service.

Melissa Grubbs and Ben Hall were both promoted to Commander. Hall replaces Stuart as Criminal Investigations Division supervisor, while Grubbs will oversee the newly created Special Operations Division.

Sgt. Daniel Sitz is being promoted to Lieutenant and assigned to Patrol. Detective Jason Watson is being promoted to Sergeant and assigned to Patrol.

“It is our honor to celebrate these individuals for their contributions to our Department and for achieving their personal goals of advancement,” Police Chief Allen Banks said. “I’m excited to work with them for many more years as they continue to provide great leadership for the Round Rock Police Department and the City of Round Rock.”
