Police respond to barricaded subject

Subject safely taken into custody

At approximately 2:35 p.m. on Sept. 22, Officers responded to a report of gunshots fired from a residence in the 1600-block of Bryant Drive. Officers set up a perimeter surrounding the Citywide condominiums, residents were asked to remain indoors, and traffic on A.W. Grimes Blvd was shut down in the area. The adult female subject barricaded herself inside of the residence. RRPD SWAT began negotiating with her to come out. The subject was believed to be experiencing a mental health crisis.

At approximately 5:40 p.m., the subject was taken into custody without further incident. There were no reported injuries. We received assistance from the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team and the Cedar Park Police Department.

A.W. Grimes Blvd has reopened to traffic. Thanks to our residents for their patience during this incident.
