Suspects apprehended in bank robbery

Two people were arrested Wednesday, May 1, in connection to an April 22 bank robbery in Belton. The arrested individuals – Delida Mindieta, 54, and Alfredo Gonzales, 25 – are suspects in other bank robberies, including the April 22 robbery of a Wells Fargo in Round Rock.
 
The FBI and U.S. Marshals Service arrested Mindieta and Gonzales in Refugio, Texas, on a charge of robbery of a financial institution. In addition to Round Rock and Belton, Mindieta is also a suspect in an April 30 bank robbery in Edna, Texas.
 
The Round Rock Police Department worked in conjunction with federal law enforcement to help identify and locate Mindieta. The Department would like to thank the public for submitting tips and sharing our previous suspect description.

Just after 4 p.m. on Monday, April 22, the Round Rock Police Department received report of a robbery at the Wells Fargo at 271 University Oaks Blvd.

Officers searched the area with the assistance of an Austin Police helicopter and Williamson County Sheriff’s Office K9’s. The suspect is described as a Hispanic female, in her 40s or 50s, 5’0” to 5’3”, 160 lbs., with dark hair and wearing sunglasses and a black hoodie. There were no injuries and there is no threat to the public.
