Police search for vehicle involved in March 14 auto-pedestrian collision

On March 14 at about 1 a.m., Angel Contreras was walking along IH-35 near the La Margarita Restaurant (just north of Sam Bass Road) when he was struck and killed by a vehicle traveling southbound on IH-35.

Investigation has determined that the vehicle that struck Angel was a white 1996 to 2002 model Chevy Express van very similar to the one included in the attached picture. The van was loaded down with boxes and luggage on top of it. After striking Angel, the vehicle immediately exited IH-35 at RM 620/Round Rock Avenue.

The Round Rock Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in locating the vehicle involved in this accident. The van will have headlight and moulding damage on the right front as well as damage to the passenger side mirror.
