Water color, odor issue returns

Tests show water is safe to drink; cause is presence of manganese

Many areas in Round Rock have been experiencing unusual color and odor/taste in our drinking water. While these issues are unpleasant, they do not pose a health hazard.

The presence of manganese causes the issue. We monitor the water in our system closely and test results indicate the water is safe to drink.

The same discoloration issue occurred in early July. As temperatures are now consistently reaching 100 degrees and Citywide water usage is high, this issue could continue off and on throughout the summer.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
