Round Rock Express open 18th season at Dell Diamond

Five-game opening weekend homestand features giveaways, fireworks, concert

Round Rock Express logoBaseball is back in Central Texas! The Round Rock Express open their 18th season on Thursday, April 6 with a five-game series against the Nashville Sounds (Oakland A’s affiliate) at Dell Diamond. First pitch on Opening Day is slated for 7:05 p.m.

The opening homestand is loaded with fireworks, giveaways, special events and even a postgame concert. Thursday’s Opening Day contest features a special ceremonial first pitch by Austin Copeland of the Sean and Brodie Copeland Memorial Endowment. Tragedy struck the Austin family on July 14, 2016 as Sean and Brodie were killed in the Nice, France terrorist attack. Austin will be joined by his stepmom Kim and sister Maegan.

Thursday’s game also features a schedule magnet giveaway, as well as a postgame fireworks show to celebrate the beginning of a new baseball season. The first Brew Review of the year will also take place in the newly-reconstructed Nolan Ryan’s Beef Fireball Grill. Fans can sample some of the latest and greatest beer offerings available from Brown Distributing.

After Friday Fireworks, Saturday’s game begins with a cap giveaway for the first 3,000 fans, thanks to the Nyle Maxwell Family of Dealerships, and ends with a Bob Schneider concert as part of the St. David’s Summer Concert Series, presented by Dell.

In addition, the LEGO Play Ball Tour will be at the ballpark from April 7-9. The traveling exhibition gives fans the opportunity to have fun with building tables for creative play, family challenges, photo opportunities with life-size LEGO models and a chance to build and launch LEGO creations down a race ramp.

The homestand concludes with the first of two Bark in the Park nights on Monday, April 10. Fans can purchase a special ticket package using the code BARK to unlock special event pricing that comes complete with a unique Express PrideBites chew toy, as seen on Shark Tank.
