Round Rock Fire Department kicks off Fill the Boot campaign to fight muscular dystrophy

Round Rock firefighters will be continuing a long-standing tradition May 10-12 as they kick off the annual Fill the Boot program to raise critical funds to help transform the lives of kids and adults with muscular dystrophy, ALS and related muscle-debilitating diseases.

Firefighters will be posted with boots in hand asking the community to make a donation to the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) from 8 to 10 a.m. and 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. May 10-12 at the intersection of East Palm Valley and Mays Street, as well as A.W. Grimes Boulevard and Gattis School Road.

Individuals and local businesses can also support the campaign by donating online at filltheboot.donordrive.com/team/RoundRock.

Fill the Boot is an annual event hosted locally by Round Rock Professional Firefighters Association Local 3082. Donations help to fund life-changing research and family services.

Round Rock Mayor Craig Morgan proclaimed May 2022 as “Muscular Dystrophy Association Month” in Round Rock at City Council’s regularly scheduled meeting on April 28.
