Round Rock Fire Department launches Instagram account

The Round Rock Fire Department (RRFD) launched its new Instagram account today in a strategic move to broaden its community outreach and recruitment efforts.

While RRFD already maintains a presence on Facebook, the decision to establish a presence on the visual-centric platform stems from its popularity among younger demographics, making it an invaluable tool for reaching potential new recruits and residents who are interested in fire safety and community events.

RRFD aims to steadily grow its audience by sharing behind-the-scenes insights into the life of firefighters and highlighting training exercises, community involvement and day-to-day operations.

“Instagram offers us a new opportunity to connect with our community, showcase our department’s values, and inspire the next generation of firefighters,” said Fire Chief Shane Glaiser.

The Department’s first post featured a Reel that followed the Full House trend, introducing various Fire Department employees in the style of the popular sitcom’s theme song.
