UPDATE: One suspect in custody after shooting at convenience store

02/09/2017, 11:45 a.m.- Police identified the victim from the shooting that took place on Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2017, at 1490 E. Old Settlers Blvd., as 43-year-old John Lawrence Ammon of Round Rock.

The suspect, 40-year-old Kendrick Tremayne Newman, of Round Rock, has been charged with murder, after turning himself in at the Williamson County Jail.

Police believe there are additional witnesses to this incident who have not come forward. As detectives continue to investigate the murder, we ask anyone who may have information to contact police at 512-218-5500.

At approximately 9:25 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8, Round Rock police responded to a disturbance and multiple reports of shots fired at Wag-A-Bag, 1490 E. Old Settlers Blvd. Officers found one deceased male upon arrival.

Detectives interviewed multiple witnesses and reviewed store surveillance to obtain a suspect description. One suspect is in custody.
