Round Rock Police to increase patrols throughout the holiday weekend

ROUND ROCK, TX – The Round Rock Police Department will be increasing patrols over the holiday weekend to curb drunk driving and keep impaired drivers off the road.

On Saturday, Dec. 30, and Sunday, Dec. 31, residents can expect to see an enhanced law enforcement presence across our community. The Round Rock Police Department’s DWI Unit will be strategically monitoring key locations and thoroughfares to detect and apprehend individuals driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

The Round Rock Police Department urges all drivers to make responsible choices and plan ahead if they anticipate consuming alcoholic beverages during holiday festivities. Designating a sober driver, utilizing rideshare services, or using public transportation are all viable alternatives to ensuring a safe journey home.

“We want everyone to enjoy holiday celebrations responsibly. Driving under the influence puts not only the impaired driver but also innocent lives at risk. Our increased patrols send a clear message that we are committed to keeping our roads safe for everyone,” said Chief Allen Banks.

Additionally, the Round Rock Police Department encourages you to report suspected drunk drivers by calling 9-1-1. Collaboration with the community is vital in ensuring the success of our efforts to combat impaired driving and alcohol-related crashes.
