Round Rock Police to Increase Traffic Enforcement for Labor Day Weekend

ROUND ROCK, TX – The Round Rock Police Department will be increasing enforcement during Labor Day weekend to curb drunk driving.

From Aug. 31 – Sept. 3, officers with the Round Rock Police Department will be increasing patrols to discourage and monitor impaired driving violations for the Labor Day weekend.

“We are committed to protecting travelers on our roadways, and officers will be working around-the-clock this Labor Day weekend to keep impaired drivers off the road,” said Chief Banks. “We are urging all drivers to celebrate responsibly and do their part to keep our roads safe.”

The Round Rock Police Department recommends the following tips to keep roads safe during the holiday weekend:

  • Never drink and drive. Find a sober ride or utilize a rideshare service.
  • Drive defensively, as holiday travel may present additional challenges.
  • Pay attention to your surroundings and avoid distractions while driving.
  • Don’t drive fatigued—allow plenty of time to get to your destination safely.
