Round Rock Public Library awarded Texas Book Festival grant

The Round Rock Public Library recently became one of 53 public libraries to receive Texas Book Festival Grant Awards. The grant, co-sponsored by Texas Library Association (TLA), is awarded for projects that enhance library collections and contribute to a love of reading.

The library applied this grant to purchase 40 e-books and e-audiobooks, which can be accessed through Libby. The digital titles selected for this grant emphasize books that promote diversity of viewpoint, identity, and experience. Titles cover several genres: adult fiction, science fiction, and nonfiction as well as young adult fiction and junior fiction. The titles selected include classics like “I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings” and “The Fire Next Time” as well as recently published titles such as “The Mountains Sing” and “The Vanishing Half.”
