Round Rock to host city-wide fire station open house

The Round Rock Fire Department invites members of the community to visit their local fire station during a city-wide Open House from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Dec. 4. Families can learn all about the department straight from Round Rock firefighters, tour the fire station and participate in activities for the whole family at this free event.

“Prevention is a huge part of our work, and it’s important to be familiar with your local fire station when you’re not in an emergency situation,” said Interim Fire Chief Shane Glaiser. “We’re excited to get to know more of our neighbors and build relationships that will make us stronger as a community.”

Attendees are welcome to take a tour of the fire house, sit in a fire truck and try on some of the firefighters’ gear. You can also learn more about fire prevention and even find out how to become a firefighter yourself.
