Round Rock wins national awards for communications

The City of Round Rock took home four national awards for communications and marketing last week at the City-County Communications and Marketing Association (3CMA) annual conference in Portland, Ore.

Round Rock’s Communications and Marketing Department was awarded a first-place Savvy Award in Best Use of Photography: Multi-Image Use for its Hometown Event Photography. The submission included images taken by City staff at events including the Fourth of July parade, Veterans Day event, Music on Main, Hometown Halloween and Hometown Holidays. The City’s photography was also a nominee for the Diamond Award, which recognizes the “best of the best” among award recipients.

The City of Round Rock received two second-place Silver Circle Awards for its response to the March 21 tornado in the Best Use of Facebook category and for its recent redesign of roundrocktexas.gov in the Best Website category.

“Don’t Winter Like a Texan,” the City’s recent emergency management preparedness campaign, garnered a third-place Award of Excellence.

The Savvy Awards competition honors excellence in local government communications, and is judged by local government professionals and individuals from professional, consulting and academic communities across the country.
