Round Rock’s Light Up the Lake Event: Know Before You Go

Light Up the Lake is the City of Round Rock’s favorite holiday festival, happening two evenings in a row on Friday, Dec. 6, and Saturday, Dec. 7 at Old Settlers Park. Admission to this event is free to the public.

IMPORTANT: Due to excessive rain, the Kenney Fort Grass Parking Lot will be closed for this year’s Light Up the Lake festival. Parking is further limited by ongoing construction on the 2023 G.O. Bond Old Settlers Park projects (see below for parking options). Please note that the bond projects currently under construction include upgrading the City’s event area for an improved parking and pedestrian experience for special events like Light Up the Lake!

Here’s what to expect:

  • A linear setup on the east side of Bright Lake due to ongoing 2023 G.O. bond project construction at Old Settlers Park
  • THIS IS A WALKING EVENT! Pathways will include sidewalks and grass terrain, which might be a little on the wet side due to recent weather– please plan accordingly.
  • Spectacular light shows every 15 minutes on Bright Lake (with ability to purchase an Interactive Show Bracelet along the event route)
  • Giant glowing balloons floating above the lake
  • Live music on two stages each night
  • Family-friendly activities, crafts, food vendors, holiday displays, and pictures with Santa
  • Stay warm by the yule log and enjoy the festive atmosphere
