On Nov. 17, the City Council called a Special Election for Saturday, Jan. 24 for the purpose of filling a vacancy for Councilmember Place 3.

Former Councilmember Joe Clifford announced Nov. 13 he was resigning, effectively immediately, to move to Houston to be closer to family.

Polls will be open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Election Day, Saturday, Jan. 24.

Polling locations for Election Day are the Baca Center, 301 W. Bagdad Ave., and Randalls grocery, 2051 Gattis School Road. 

The early voting period was Jan. 7-20 .
