Voters approve measure in Special Local Option Election

The sale of all alcoholic beverages including mixed beverages is now legal throughout the entire Round Rock City limits, following a Special Local Option Election.

Voters approved the measure on Nov. 6, with 28,531 voting “for” and 6,341 voting “against” the proposition. Round Rock City Council canvassed the results of the election at its Nov. 20 meeting.

Previously, approximately 80 percent of the city allowed for the sale of all alcoholic beverages in restaurants and bars, while the remaining areas were only permitted to sell beer and wine.
