Stained glass art display, demos in June

Learn more about stained glass art at the Library

Check out the Library’s Display Case throughout June to view Cindy Dow Savary’s exhibit “A Passion for Glass.” Since her retirement from the the City of Round Rock’s Finance Department in August 2017, Cindy began taking classes at Inspiration Glass Studio. The stained glass panels on display represent a year’s work. Each panel takes from three to five weeks to complete.

If you’d like to learn more about stained glass art, join us for two free demonstrations, presented by Susan Dittmar, owner of Inspiration Glass Studio, in the Library Gallery:

  • Art Glass Cutting Techniques Demonstration from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m., Saturday, June 15. Dittmar will demonstrate how to drill holes into art glass using a Dremel with a diamond bit.
  • Stained Glass Rain Chain Class from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m., Saturday, June 29. Adults and kids ages 8+ are invited to this hands-on workshop to learn how to make simple stained glass rain chains.

All are welcome at these fun, free demonstrations!
