Street Cred Update: Old Settlers Boulevard Extension to connect to CR 110

A road project underway near Old Settlers Park will help ease traffic congestion on Highway 79 as soon as next spring.

Old Settlers Boulevard will be extended east past Red Bud Lane to County Road 110. Construction on the nearly mile-long stretch began last year, with completion anticipated in spring 2026.

The Old Settlers Boulevard Extension will be a four-lane, divided roadway with a center median and twin bridges over McNutt Creek. It will include a 10-foot shared-use path on one side and a sidewalk on the other. A traffic signal with crosswalk will be added at the CR 110 intersection.

While long-term plans call for the road to connect to State Highway 130, in the short term the extension provides a connection to the Sienna subdivision, an east-west connection to Old Settlers Park for even more Round Rock residents, and a measure of traffic relief for motorists on Highway 79.

Funding for the $23.4 million project was a joint effort between the City of Round Rock’s half-cent sales tax for roads, City-issued bonds and the Williamson County Road Bond Program.
