The Daytripper, the popular Texas-based PBS travelogue hosted by Chet Garner, premiered its sixth season with an episode on Round Rock.

The City hosted a premier party at Prete Main Street Plaza on Thursday, April 7, attended by more than 500 Daytripper devotees.

The episode savors the fun things to do, see — and eat — in our town. From Round Rock Donuts to the Round Rock Express — with a side trip (ambush?) to Hairy Man Road — the Daytripper gang explores the best of Round Rock in its inimitable, off-beat style. In other words, Chet and Co. ride stick horses and use squirt guns to re-enact the famous Sam Bass Shootout in Downtown.

It’s all great fun and definitely worth sharing with your out-of-town friends who wonder about this place with the unusual name.
