Union Pacific Railroad to close crossings for repairs, maintenance

Union Pacific Railroad (UP) will be performing rail and track maintenance to the mainline that travels through Round Rock in coming weeks. Along with replacing ties and sections of track, UP will be replacing the ties under the at-grade crossings at four locations in Round Rock.

The locations within the City limits where work remains are:

  • Redbud Lane at U.S. 79 — Now set for 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, April 3. The closure was originally expected to occur Sunday, March 20
  • IH 35 southbound frontage road at McNeil Road — date and time to be determined as this closure requires Texas Department of Transportation approval

The work at the crossings at County Road 172 and McNeil Road, and St. Williams Street and McNeil Road, has been completed.
