Williamson County expands COVID-19 testing capacity in Round Rock

In accordance with Governor Abbott’s request to expand COVID-19 testing throughout Texas, Williamson County has partnered with Family Emergency Room to expand testing in Round Rock.

The Williamson County Commissioners Court agreed to provide an expanded number of tests and personal protection equipment (PPE) to Family Emergency Room which will be administering the testing services at no cost to the county or the public.

To be tested, residents of Williamson County access a new online screening tool on the county’s website developed by the Williamson County and Cities Health Department. The screening tool is designed to ensure that tests are prioritized for those who most need them. Williamson County residents can then be tested at either 3620 E. Whitestone Blvd, Cedar Park; or 1925 A.W. Grimes Blvd, Round Rock. Residents must be scheduled at www.wilco.org/coronavirus.

Family Emergency Room has six locations throughout Greater Austin, including Cedar Park and Round Rock. The Brushy Creek location is a fully operational hospital, complete with trauma and injury care, onsite imaging and lab processing, and 24/7 Certified Impact Concussion Center. Family Emergency Room is a longtime trusted community partner, having previously volunteered services in sports medicine and providing health screenings.

The expanded testing capacity made available via this partnership with Family Emergency Room is in addition to the public testing facility operated by the Williamson County and Cities Health District that was announced on April 26.
