Summer Reading Finale Concert in Prete Plaza: Lucas Miller: The Singing Zoologist (all ages)

The Round Rock Public Library presents a special performance by Lucas Miller to celebrate the end of the Summer Reading program. Families will enjoy Lucas Miller, author and singing zoologist, as he blends music, puppetry, and “zoological, stand-up comedy” to teach about nature-related topics on Monday, August 2, 2021, at 6:30 pm at Prete Plaza.

Families with children of all ages are welcome.

Tween Graphic Novel Club (ages 9-12) (preregistration)

The Round Rock Library Public Library will host a tween graphic novel club on Thursday, July 22, 2021, at 4:30 pm. Tweens are invited to meet virtually and discuss the graphic novel “Real Friends” by Shannon Hale.

Books will be available for library pick-up for all registered attendees. If registration is full and you are interested in joining the event, please contact Amy German amygerman@roundrocktexas.gov.

Concert in Prete Plaza: Canciones, raíces y alas – CRYA (all ages)

The Round Rock Public Library presents a special concert in Prete Plaza with musical guest Canciones, raíces y alas – CRYA. Canciones, raíces y alas – CRYA is a music project formed with the intention of creating family-friendly music, in Spanish, for children and the whole family on Saturday, July 17, 2021, from 10:30 AM – 11:15 AM.

Families with children of all ages are welcome.

Learn Python Computer Programming with Fun 2 Learn Code (preregistration) (ages 8-12)

The Round Rock Public Library and Fun 2 Learn Code will host a virtual Python computer programming class for kids ages 8-12. We’ll be working with Python and introducing text-based programming to tweens.  Students will write Python code and use graphics to create shapes and explore other possibilities.

Please Note: 

Preregistration is required. The class is limited to 10 students. Students should use a laptop/desktop computer (not a mobile device) and feel comfortable using the keyboard and mouse/touchpad. To be able to fully participate, students should have access to Python.

You may already have Python installed on your computer, but if you do not, you have two FREE options:
