Employee Spotlight: Anton Murray, Library Marketing and Events Coordinator

Libraries have always been cornerstones of communities, offering knowledge, resources and public spaces for patrons. But the Round Rock Public Library is more than just a collection of books and resources — it’s a place where Round Rock residents can feel at home. At the heart of this operation are the library’s dedicated staff members.

Anton Murray is the Library’s first dedicated Marketing and Events Coordinator. As the library grows and evolves, the new position was created at the end of 2022 to expand communication efforts and build on the organization’s identity as a provider of high quality resources, services and programs.

From flyers for upcoming library events to engaging social media posts, Murray collaborates with library staff to ensure that promotional materials are both eye-catching and informative. He’s the library’s contact for all things marketing and communications related, and oversees the library department’s presence at roundrocktexas.gov/library.

Beyond design and messaging, Murray plays an active role in the coordination of the library’s outreach activities, and supervises a fantastic group of volunteers.

But if you ask him about himself, Murray will always find a way to bring the topic back to the library and its many programs.

The library’s commitment to serving the community reached a significant milestone with the opening of its brand-new building in January 2023. Funded by 2013 voter-approved bonds, the modern building spans 66,000 square feet and three stories, with an adjacent 289-stall parking garage. From quiet work/study zones to collaborative areas, the library is equipped to cater to diverse needs.

Programming resumed in the months after the opening the building, and continues into the fall. Be sure to check out the events list at roundrocktexas.gov/library.
