Red Bud Lane North- US 79 to CR 117

This project will upgrade an existing two-lane roadway to a new four-lane divided including: intersection, curb and gutter, and pedestrian improvements.

Project was let for construction September 10, 2024. Construction kicked off in March 2025.

Community Involvement

The City held public meetings in January and July 2020 to share project details and hear feedback from the community. The materials shared at the public meeting and the meeting reports including responses to public comments are available below.

Project Update: August 2025

Contractor is progressing on schedule – 20% – 25% complete.

Contractor is preparing temporary detour to move traffic in both directions to the Southbound lanes to construct the Northbound lanes in their final location. Traffic will remain one lane in each direction and there will be left turn lanes available at major intersections.

The waterline work has been completed.  Storm sewer work is ongoing.

There are a couple of utilities that still need to be relocated, and we are working to get those moved as soon as possible.

The final pavement surface will be concrete pavement.  This work should begin in the middle of November.  Project is scheduled for completion in Spring 2027.
