UPDATE: Construction necessitates road closures in La Frontera, downtown neighborhood, U.S. 79

City road and utility construction has closed sections of two roads in Round Rock, while a Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) project will close lanes on U.S. 79 on the east side of town.

In La Frontera, Sundance Parkway is closed from the IH 35 frontage road to Parker Road, as crews are rebuilding the four-lane road. Shoppers can access the shopping center through driveways along the frontage road. This phase, one component of a larger construction project, is expected to last two months.

In downtown, one block of Lampasas Street is closed, between Milam Avenue and Anderson Avenue, for the installation of storm sewer improvements. The work is expected to last through the end of June. Detours are in place to guide motorists around the project area.

NEW: TxDOT will have single lane closures on U.S. 79 through Thursday, June 4. The inside lane of eastbound/northbound U.S. 79 before Red Bud Lane will be closed. The left turn lane will remain open. All work will be between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. TxDOT is extending the left turn lanes in both directions and these lane closures will continue for the next two weeks.
