PreK Playtime: What grows here?

Join us for some fun with local plants and critters at one of the PreK Playtime sessions Wednesday and Thursday, August 24 – 25.

We’ll have Room C loaded up with themed play activities and STEM stations for kids to explore at their own pace as they get to know what’s native to our area.

Choose from the following sessions:

We are limiting the room capacity, so registration is recommended but not required.

Each session is approximately 40 minutes long, with time to air out the room and reset the stations in between. Guests can come and go as they please during each session.

All kids are welcome. Kids aged 18 months – 6 years will probably enjoy it the best.

Alas, some stations may have small parts that are unsuited for children who mouth their playthings.

Take home seeds and fossils!

This activity is part of our #PlantWildflowers grant from HHMI Tangled Bank Studios and Nature to promote education about local pollinators. You can bring home a packet of wildflower seeds to establish your own small pollinator garden.

And thanks to a generous gift, we are sharing legally gathered Texas fossils (shark teeth and the official state fossil, palmwood) to help us appreciate the long history of life in our amazing home.
