Join the FREE salary negotiation workshop at 4 p.m. CST Thursday, October 6 to learn fool-proof strategies.

Diwali storytime celebration

Celebrate Diwali 10:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 24 with this special library storytime featuring stories, crafts, dance, and music. This activity is best enjoyed by children ages 3 – 6, alongside their caregivers.

Our featured guests include our former Bilingual Hindi Storytime presenter, Shachi Kaushik, who is back in town with her brand-new book Diwali in my New Home. Ms. Shachi will read her book!

And we’ll also enjoy watching a dance performance featuring the students of Samspra Academy.

Halloween PreK Playtime

Hang out with your best boos at one of five playtime sessions Wednesday, Oct. 26 and Thursday, Oct. 27. Explore a variety of creative play activities at your child’s own pace.

Costumes are welcome but totally optional. Also, kids may opt to participate in a treat exchange. See the online calendar for more details.

This free activity is best for ages 18 months – 6 years.

Book Character Pumpkin Decorating Contest

The Round Rock Public Library is hosting a family Book Character Pumpkin Decorating Contest that begins on Wednesday, October 26, 2022. Families are invited to decorate a pumpkin (or gourd) as a book character or with a literary theme and drop it off at the Round Rock Public Library children’s desk from October 26 – October 30.

The Tween Council will choose the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place pumpkins. Winners will be announced on Monday, November 7, 2022, and will receive a Barnes and Noble gift card!

We’re having the cutest ever Halloween activity 9:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 28.

Babies up to 18 months old are invited to read, sing, and play!

The City of Round Rock presents the return of the Music on Main Lunchtime Series in Downtown Round Rock – every Tuesday and Thursday through November 10 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The shows are perfectly timed to visit after a Thursday storytime at the library! Plus there are face paint and balloon artists for the kids.

The City of Round Rock presents Music on Main, featuring free live music on the Prete Main Street Plaza stage* from 7-9 p.m. every Wednesday from October 5-November 9.

Bring a lawn chair or blanket, some dinner, and the entire family. There will be face painting, balloon artists, free parking and more!

Chalk Walk Arts Festival

Visit Round Rock’s largest and most famous festival, the Chalk Walk, 2 – 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 7 and 9 a.m. – 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 8 at Dell Diamond.

Admission and parking are free. The Chalk Walk features hundreds of artists, vendors, sponsors, local and regional musicians, theatrical performances, foods and drinks and a children’s area.

The Round Rock Chalk Walk Arts Festival is held at Dell Diamond in the Northwest Parking Area, where artists and vendors exhibit, showcase and sell a large variety of fine art, crafts and more.

Draw a chalk mural and win prizes! The focal point of the festival is the chalk mural artists creating street paintings. Best of Show gets $1500 plus other prizes awarded on Saturday evening!

Round Rock DiwaliFest

Join DiwaliFest, a free celebration of light and all it encompasses, at Centennial Plaza, 3 – 10 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22.

Bring your friends to enjoy beautiful street lights, savory food, music, cultural dance, beautiful Rangoli (sand art) and a fashion show!

Kids can learn various arts and crafts while others can partake in free Bollywood dance lessons. In this vibrant atmosphere, local vendors will display colorful arts and crafts, Indian clothing, jewelry and artists will offer Henna temporary tattoos.

Trunk or Treat for Special Needs Kids

Join Round Rock Parks and Recreation Department for the annual free Trunk or Treat.   Saturday, October 22, 2022 from 4:00 to 6:00pm at Ascension Seton Williamson located at 201 Seton Parkway.

This is a family-centered event focusing on active participation for children with various disabilities or limitations. Siblings are welcome to participate.

Drive-through Trunk or Treat


Drive over for a free, kid-safe Halloween festival 4 – 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22 at . Stay in your car to receive candy and view the decorated trunks.

Join the fun at the Round Rock Public Safety Training Center, 2801 North Mays Street.

The annual event is organized by Round Rock Operation Blue Santa. Toy and monetary donations are welcome.

“Nosferatu” outdoor screening accompanied by the Central Texas Philharmonic

Come and enjoy a SPOOKY night out with an outdoor screening of the classic vampire movie “Nosferatu” with the music soundtrack played live by the Central Texas Philharmonic! 

All the sinister fun takes place at Yonders Point at 7:30 p.m. Friday, October 28.

Bring your blankets, chairs and picnic basket and enjoy this free event.

The event is brought to you by Round Rock Parks and Recreation and the Central Texas Philharmonic.

Yonders Point can be found on the north side of Old Settlers Park, which is located at 3103 Aten Loop.

Fall Fun Festival – Monster Mash Bash

Join the Round Rock Parks and Recreation Department for the annual Fall Fun Festival _ Monster Mash Bash! We will have carnival games for toddlers and preschoolers, hayrides, snacks, prizes, and fun entertainment for all to enjoy. 

We ask that you bring a canned good to donate to the Round Rock Food Pantry.

The Fall Fun Fest begins at 9:00 a.m. Monday, October31 at the Old Settlers Park located at 3400 E Palm Valley Blvd.
