Construction begins on Heritage Trail West

Construction is now taking place on the new Heritage Trail West. Due to this construction, Memorial Park will be closed for several months.

The project includes a 10-foot-wide trail spanning from Chisholm Trail Road to Mays Street and includes improvements at Bathing Beach Park, Chisholm Trail Crossing Park and Memorial Park. The approximately 1-mile trail will include elements showcasing Round Rock’s history, open spaces for recreational opportunities and amenities such as a pedestrian bridge and an overlook with views of Brushy Creek.

Construction will take approximately 18 months and is expected to be completed in 2022.

Several projects, including this one along Brushy Creek will ultimately connect existing trails in Round Rock and Williamson County to create a regional system stretching from U.S. 183 to Texas 130.
