Fire Department responds to two structure fire calls

No injuries were reported after Round Rock Fire Department responded to two structure fire calls Saturday morning.

Five units responded to a fire at approximately 6:36 a.m. at a residence located near the corner of Twin Ridge Parkway and Wilderness Way. The fire was contained to the attic and garage area of the home, which both received significant fire damage. The fire was extinguished at approximately 7:03 a.m. Two occupants were in the home at the time of the fire and were able to safely exit the residence. No injuries were reported.

Six units responded to a call of a possible structure fire at approximately 6:42 a.m. in the 5700 block of Porano Circle. Crews found smoke on the second floor upon entering the home, but there was no active fire at that time. Minimal fire damage was found within the home’s insulation. Two occupants were in the home at the time of the fire and were able to safely exit the residence. No injuries were reported.

At this time, the cause of both fires is believed to have been a lightning strike.
