Local Author Meet and Greet on Oct. 24

Celebrate local authors at the Round Rock Public Library’s Local Author Meet and Greet, Saturday, June 20th, on the first and second floors from 11am-1pm. Come and meet local authors Kerry Dashnaw, Terri Johnson, Kirti Kode, Mark Moore, Nikei Salas, and Jenna Summers. They will have copies of their books for sale with 10% of the sales going to help support The Friends of the Round Rock Library.

Author Spotlight

Wensly Anijs

Wensly Anijs (Ah-Nice) is a Surinamese American author. He’s the father of two boys and husband to an amazing wife. Wensly lived in Miami for 12 years but has been living in the Austin metro area for the last nine years. Although Wensly has always enjoyed writing, he did not take it seriously until he became a father.

Amiyo Basu

Amiyo Basu is a poet‑engineer whose work blends science and art with quiet reflections on nature and human feeling. His renewable‑energy career and his poetry share a commitment to careful, beauty‑driven design. Raised among stories, music, and film, he also paints watercolors that echo the gentle wonder in his writing. Across all his work, he invites us to imagine a world shaped by curiosity and compassion.

Shannon Bryant

Shannon Bryant: With over 20 years of experience teaching swimming, I’d seen too many children struggle because fear had already set in. I wrote SwimFairy to help parents guide children to feel comfortable in the water early. This book is also helpful for children who like to know what to expect when going to lessons, such as those on the spectrum.

Shannon L. Mokry

Shannon L. Mokry lives in Pflugerville with her family and service dog Theo. She is a homeschooling mama with a passion for good books. Shannon has written and illustrated over two dozen books that encourage and teach children a wide range of topics. Each book is full of whimsy and purpose, designed to spark both the imagination and deep conversation.

Courtney Parker

Courtney Parker is a wife and mother of three girls and lives in Georgetown, Texas. She is head of marketing for an EdTech company and is heavily embedded in the homeschool community in the Austin area.

Kristin Rice

Kristin Rice was born and raised in Texas. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Texas A&M University in Theatre and English. She also obtained a certificate in teaching and pastoral counseling. Mrs. Rice has been publicized in multiple magazines, featured in numerous commercials, debuted in many movies and faith-based films, modeled with clothing and fitness lines, edited and released a few books, plus now her Children’s Book, inspired by her own kids!

Lisa Sitze

Lisa Sitze has worked as a life coach for the past three years, being certified through Dr. Sears Wellness Institute. She focuses on clients individually, helping them through Deep Dives into themselves as they learn to become independent from the residual effects of childhood narcissistic abuse. The transformation of her clients has proven to them and others around them how valuable agency is in creating their life their way.
