No one injured in house fire caused by lightning strike

At 5:46 a.m. Monday, Feb. 20, Round Rock Fire Department units responded to a report of a smell of smoke inside a residence at 1913 Stratford Drive.

The first units arrived at 5:52 a.m. and reported a smell of smoke outside the residence. When crews entered the structure they found a well-involved fire in the attic.

Occupants were out of the residence when crews arrived. There were no injuries. Damage is estimated at approximately $30,000 for the structure and contents.

Crews contained and extinguished the fire in approximately 20 minutes.

Investigators determined the fire was caused by a lightning strike.
