One person in the hospital following Downtown shooting

9pm Update: The arrested suspect has been identified as Joshua Kim, 19, of Austin. The victim remains in the hospital with a gunshot wound and is in critical but stable condition.

The investigation is ongoing but preliminary reports indicate that the suspect was burglarizing a vehicle in the 100-block of West Main Street at approximately 4:20 p.m. Friday. When the owner of the vehicle encountered the suspect, the suspect shot the victim. The suspect then pointed the gun at another person. Officers arrived on scene and fired at the suspect but did not hit the suspect. The suspect was then apprehended by the Officers and charged with one count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and one count of aggravated robbery with serious bodily injury. There are no other reported injuries.

Original Post: Officers are currently on scene in Downtown Round Rock following a report of a burglary and a gun shot in the 100-block of West Main Street.

The call came in at approximately 4:20 p.m. Two subjects are currently detained, one of which is at the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. There is no danger to the public. Portions of Main and Blair Streets will remain closed during the investigation.
