Police host Coffee with a Cop on Sept. 30

The Round Rock Police Department will give residents the chance to have Coffee with a Cop from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. Monday, Sept. 30, at Starbucks, 110 N. Interstate 35.

The informal event is the chance to ask questions, discuss concerns, and get to know the officers who patrol Round Rock’s neighborhoods. Coffee at the public event is free.

“e;This is a time to ask that question that you have always wanted to ask a cop,”e; said Officer Jeff Spencer, who recognized the need for this type of event. “e;This is aimed at those who may normally not have a chance to, or who might hesitate to, talk with an officer.”e;

The plan is to host regular sessions throughout the city to build community relationships one coffee cup at a time, in a relaxed environment.

Coffee with a Cop is a national initiative supported by the U.S. Department of Justice. Similar events are held across the country as local police departments strive to make lasting connections with the communities they serve.
