Police investigate July 26 homicide

Aug. 6 Update: The suspect in the July 26 murder of Joseph White was found dead in White’s vehicle at approximately 7:20 p.m. on July 26 in southern Travis County. Round Rock Police have identified White’s brother-in-law as the lone suspect in the homicide investigation. RRPD believes the cause of the suspect’s death to be a self-inflicted gunshot. The suspect’s official cause of death is pending a final medical examiner’s report from the Travis County Medical Examiner’s Office.

At approximately 6:30 a.m. Monday, July 26, Round Rock Police officers responded to a report of gun shots near the 16900-block of N IH-35 – in the parking lot south of Aspen University. Once on scene, Officers found a deceased adult male in a parking lot. It is believed he was shot by the occupants of a pickup truck that left the scene. The victim has been identified as Joseph White, 40, of Pflugerville.
