On Wednesday, Feb. 4, Round Rock Police arrested Christian Javier Rodriguez (DOB 2/16/1994) of Round Rock, for Capital Murder of a child.

At 12:30 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 1, officers responded to the 1400 block of E. Logan Street to a reported child not breathing at the residence. Emergency services personnel arrived and performed life saving measures on the child. Despite the efforts used to save the child, he was pronounced deceased on scene.

Detectives initiated an investigation into the circumstances involving the death, which led to multiple interviews of occupants of the home. During an interview, Rodriguez admitted to throwing the child in a manner that caused serious bodily injury and the subsequent death of the child. Autopsy results revealed the 3-year-old child died due to the injuries he sustained.

Rodriguez is currently being held in the Williamson County Jail.
