The Central Texas area is experiencing a rash of truck tailgate thefts. Round Rock Police are warning truck owners to be on alert and to take extra precautions. These thefts can happen in a matter of seconds and can be expensive to replace.

To help protect your tailgate from being jacked, follow these suggestions:

• Park truck inside a locked garage
• Back trucks against walls
• Buy tailgate lock
