Preservation Month coming in May

The National Trust for Historic Preservation established National Preservation Month in 1973 as an occasion for local preservation and civic organizations to spotlight preservation programs and heritage tourism. This year we will be taking a closer look at Round Rock’s “Old Town.” Some of the events and activities we have planned are listed below; updates will be posted at roundrocktexas.gov/historicpreservation.

  • Pioneer Day on Saturday, May 4, 10 am – 3pm at the Old Settlers Association, hosted by the Williamson Museum.
  • Lunch and Learn Tuesday, May 14 noon-1 pm at the Baca Center: “People and Places of Historic Importance in Round Rock” presented by Pearson Ranch Middle School 7th grade Texas History students.
  • Preservation Month booth at Music on Main, May 8 and 22, 7-9 pm.
  • Center Art Club exhibit on Old Town at the Baca Center lobby (monthlong)
  • Center Art Club exhibit at Library (monthlong)
  • Round Rock Preservation exhibit in Library 3rd floor display case (monthlong)
