The City of Round Rock Lifeguard Program swept the top two spots at the Central Texas Lifeguard Competition. As a result, both teams qualified for the 2026 Texas Lifeguard Competition on Aug. 3 in College Station.
Round Rock enters the state competition as the reigning three-time Texas Lifeguard Competition State Champion. After winning state titles in 2023, 2024 and 2025, the program is now pursuing a fourth consecutive championship.
The regional competition challenged lifeguards through realistic emergency response scenarios. Throughout the event, teams demonstrated rescue techniques, teamwork, communication and technical skills under pressure.
“Having two Round Rock teams earn the top two spots at the Central Texas Lifeguard Competition is an incredible achievement,” said Nichole Bean, Aquatics Manager for the City of Round Rock Parks and Recreation Department. “This accomplishment highlights the strength of our program, the dedication of our lifeguards and the culture that continues to set Round Rock apart.”
Round Rock’s Aquatics Division employs 365 seasonal team members. In addition, the program has earned statewide and national recognition for its commitment to safety, recruitment, training and team culture, including features in Aquatics International and Parks & Recreation magazine.
