Round Rock police arrest suspect in April 19 shooting

On Aug. 24, Nicholas Carter-Cain, 19, was arrested for Manslaughter (Felony 2) for shooting and killing Arturo Granados in the 1600-block of Gattis School Road on April 19, 2022.

The shooting incident at the Round Rock Skate Park was isolated between two groups of people and resulted with one person unintentionally shooting his friend.

The Round Rock Police are seeking information regarding this gray SUV involved in an April 20 drive-by shooting in the 1600-block of Pine Knoll Drive in Austin. We believe the occupants of this vehicle are connected to the April 19 homicide in the 1600-block of Gattis School Road in Round Rock. Arturo Granados, 18, of Round Rock, was declared deceased on scene following a shooting in the 1600-block of Gattis School Road.

Round Rock Police responded to a report of a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to a male victim at St. David’s Round Rock Medical Center at approximately 9:40 p.m. on Tuesday, April 19. Officers spoke to witnesses who said the shooting happened in the 1600-block of Gattis School Road. Officers responded to the location and found Granados deceased from an apparent gunshot wound. Officers also received a report of a third male subject with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound at St. David’s North Austin Medical Center.

“One shooting is too many for Round Rock,” Police Chief Allen Banks said. “Our officers are committed to keeping this city one of the safest in the country. We will work tirelessly to ensure justice is served in this case. This was an isolated incident and there is no threat to the public.”
