Round Rock Public Library has launched a new program to expand library services beyond the building and into the community.
The library recently announced the launch of its Library on the Go pilot program, which will make stops at City parks throughout the summer. Residents may sign up for library cards and check out books and movies during designated locations and times. The first event was held in late May in Frontier Park.
Library on the Go is intended to reach those who may not have easy access to the library. The aim is to encourage reading and literacy, connecting with the community, and providing library services in a fun and engaging way.
Library on the Go will be at Frontier Park and Mesa Village Park from 9-11 a.m. on the following dates:
Frontier Park (1804 Frontier Trail)
- Saturday, June 28
- Saturday, July 26
Mesa Village Park (1401 Georgetown St.)
- Saturday, June 14
- Saturday, July 12
- Saturday, Aug. 9

Readers will need to provide a valid government-issued ID card, such as a driver’s license, passport or military ID, to obtain a Round Rock Public Library card at Library on the Go. Library cards will be needed to check out books and movies.
Items checked out may be returned directly to the library or dropped off at a future Library on the Go session.
The library also delivers to homes, senior living communities, and assisted living and nursing facilities for residents who qualify for the service. All deliveries must be to residents of Round Rock.
