The City of Round Rock continues to earn national recognition as Livability lists Round Rock as the No. 10 Best Place to Live in America in a recently published ranking.
Livability’s rankings are based on an in-depth review of thousands of U.S. cities. To determine which of those made the cut, nearly 100 data points focused on local economic conditions and activity, housing and cost of living, community amenities, transportation, environment, safety, education and health were analyzed.
Round Rock’s safe neighborhoods, award-winning parks system, historic downtown district, wide range of health care options and vibrant economy were all mentioned as reasons the City landed a top spot.
Here’s an excerpt from what they had to say:
“Round Rock lures residents with its safe neighborhoods, award-winning park system, cute downtown district, top-notch health care options and plenty of job opportunities. Plus, the living and housing costs are lower than many of its neighbors, including nearby Austin — about 18 miles away.
Some of the larger employers include Emerson Automation Solutions, Toppan Photomasks and Dell Technologies, with growing sectors such as life sciences, technology and manufacturing, so young professionals have plenty of opportunities to advance their careers. As far as health care goes, Ascension Seton Williamson Hospital serves Williamson County alongside more than 8,400 health care practitioners working in both doctors’ offices and trauma care centers.
There are over three dozen parks for the city’s 128,111 residents, including a Play for All Abilities Park featuring a sensory pod sandbox and an all-abilities treehouse. Plus, there’s a dog park, a skate park, and an assortment of centers and pavilions available for rent for family get-togethers. Downtown Round Rock is a gathering place for dining, shopping, nightlife and events ranging from Music on Main to Beaujolais Nights.“
Round Rock was one of only eight Texas cities to be included in the ranking, and one of three to make the top ten.
