Residents log more than 16,000 hours in Summer Reading Program

Readers succeeded in reaching the Library’s goal of 1 million points during this year’s Summer Reading Program, which equals more than 16,000 hours of reading! Since the goal was met, the Library’s support organization, Friends of RRPL, donated $250 each to the Round Rock Area Serving Center and to the Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter. Top readers also earned gift cards donated by Friends of RRPL.

Grant allows library to purchase more Wonderbooks

For the second year in a row, the Library was awarded a $2,500 Texas Book Festival grant. The grant is awarded for projects that enhance library collections and contribute to a love of reading. With the funds, the Library will purchase 53 Wonderbooks for readers ages 3-12. Wonderbooks are printed books with a ready-to-play audiobook inside the cover. Kids can choose to read along with the book, or they can switch to learning mode, which aids in reading comprehension. Visit the Library at 221 E. Main St. to check out a Wonderbook today!
