What We Do
The Friends of the Round Rock Public Library provide funding and manpower to enhance Round Rock Public Library services to library users. We build library support among community members through events such as the Summer Reading Program, a monthly November membership program, and the Mystery Night community fundraiser usually held in the Spring. We also raise funds through an ongoing used book sale.
Who We Are
The Friends of the Library began in March 1980 and became a non-profit 501(c)(3) in 1996 supporting the city-funded library, but is not part of the city government. We have an independent board of directors, with the library director serving as an ex officio member. In addition to funding from book sales and memberships, the Friends of the Library also administers a library-specific fund financially managed by the Greater Round Rock Community Foundation.
Visit The Friends of the Round Rock Public Library book store located on the 2nd floor. The “Book Nook” is open during library hours. Donations of books, CDs, DVDs, etc. in good condition are welcome. See our Book Donation Policy for more information on the types of materials we accept.
Half-price books are always available on the white shelves in the Book Nook and quarterly on the carts downstairs in the lobby. Check the Book Nook Facebook page for up-to-date information about ongoing sales and new materials.
