Tree planting tips
Winter is the right time to plant trees. Find some tips on choosing a site to plant a tree, picking the right species and buying a tree. Be sure to also review some of our news articles as the Forestry Divison frequently helps with free news tree tips.

Tree plantings and Arbor Day
From October to March, the Round Rock Forestry Department organizes tree plantings to beautify and reforest Round Rock area parks. Arbor Day is our signature planting event where over 100 trees are planted by 200+ volunteers and staff members. Each fall the department plants Memorial Tree Groves along with For the Love of Christi out at Old Settlers Park. Volunteers are always welcome to help at tree plantings.

Brush Pick-up
For information on brush pick-up, or to schedule a pick-up, call the Round Rock Parks and Recreation Department at (512) 218-5540. Pick-up requests can also be made online.  The Brush and Recycling Services brochure highlights the brush pickup program and free mulch available at the City of Round Rock.

Free Mulch
The benefit of having our own Brush Recycling Center is residents get FREE MULCH! Residents, with proof of residency (water bill) may visit the Brush Recycling Center and collect up to 2 cubic yards of mulch at a time for free (a pickup truck load). Bring your own bags and a shovel!  Nonresidents may purchase mulch. A pickup truck (2 cubic yard) load is $15.
