The Round Rock Parks and Recreation Department offers the following events focusing on active participation for children and adults with various disabilities or limitations. We strive to create equal access to recreation, to help enhance an individual’s quality of life.
Arts and Enrichment
Art Classes
Explore your inner artist with activities such as drawing, painting, and clay art! Experience the joy of creativity while working alongside peers and enjoying project ideas. For ages 8 years and older.

Life Skills: Cooking Series
Have fun while learning important life skills! We will discover the joy of cooking through a series of classes that focus on a different theme each session. For 13 years and older.

Theatre Arts
In this program led by Joshua’s Stage, participants will have the opportunity to demonstrate their creativity, increase their self-confidence, and build their social skills while they engage in theatre arts, improv, music, dance, arts and crafts, and create-a-story. Participants will perform an original class-created play and/or mini-skits in the Showcase for the finale. A positive experience will be shared by everyone as we embrace our H.I.P.P.P. Rules – our positive behavior supports within The Creative Outlet Method.

Camps
Spring Break Camp: March 14-18
Adaptive Summer Camp (Youth and Teen)
This camp is for youth (ages 5-12 years old) with disabilities and teens (ages 13-21 years old) with disabilities. This program offers daily activities, each related to the weekly theme, including swimming, field trips, arts and crafts, sports, drama, cooking, group games and lots of fun. Youth camp ratio is 1 team member for every 4 campers; Teen camp ratio is 1 team member for every 5 campers; Campers must be able to function within this ratio.
This camp operates Monday-Friday: 7:00am to 6:00pm at the Clay Madsen Recreation Center.
If utilizing the monthly payment plan, your total amount due will be broken up into 3 payments: 30% due at time of registration, 35% due on May 1 and 35% due on June 1.

Teen Trips
Teen Trips explore different activities and locations around the area. You can register for one of these trips or all, whatever you like! No additional money is needed for the trips. Participants must be able to stay in a group. Limited space is available. Individuals should bring a water bottle, sack lunch and a backpack.

Special Needs Family Jamboree – Saturday, September 18, 2021 9-11am
With safety being our top priority, the 2021 Jamboree will be a drive-thru. We are still bringing special needs venders together to share their products, services, and organization details with you in a fun format. All of the vendors and volunteers will be wearing masks. We hope that COVID is better controlled by this time next year so that we can return to our previous format. For this year we want to bring our families something.
We will map out a route through the Play for All parking lot with vendors and fun stations along the route. Check https://caseyscircle.org/family-fun-fair/ for more details on vendors that will be present.

Trunk or Treat – Date TBD
Round Rock Parks and Recreation’s Adaptive and Inclusive Recreation Department is hosting the 8th annual TRUNK OR TREAT! This is a family-centered event focusing on active participation for children with various disabilities or limitations. Siblings are welcome to participate. Play for All Special Needs Easter Egg Hunt – Saturday, April 9, 2022 10-11am
Round Rock Parks and Recreation Department and Dell Children’s Ascension invite you to come out the Play for All Abilities Park for our 8th Annual special needs egg hunt! This is a family-centered event, focusing on active participation for children, teens and adults with various disabilities. Hunt for the eggs high and low, look for the golden eggs for special prizes! Siblings are welcome to participate in the egg hunt so sign up early to secure your space! Please note that all hunts have the same start time this year. Participants will be divided by hunt location within the park, with each section having a separate designated check-in location. Wristband pick up will occur on April 7 & 8 at the Clay Madsen Recreation Center or onsite the day of the event. Please only register those who are hunting; parents/guardians do not need to register.
UNBirthday Party – Monday, May 9, 2022 5:30-7:30pm
Round Rock Parks and Recreation and Casey’s Circle invite you to the 5th annual UNBirthday Party! If you are wondering what an UNBirthday is, it’s really quite simple: Everyone has 1 birthday a year but 364 UNBirthdays. Special Needs Dances
Fun, themed dances for individuals with special needs include dress up contests and snacks. For ages 15 and older with special needs. Chaperone/caregiver free admission. Register in advance to have your name entered into our raffle drawings!

Adaptive Sports Clinics
Explore a different sport each month with our Adaptive Sports Clinics. Whether you want to improve your skills or learn the sport from the beginning, these clinics are for you. All sports will be adapted to the needs of the participant.

Power Soccer
Join Round Rock Parks and Recreation and CPATH for a Power Soccer practice! Power Soccer is the first competitive team sport designed and developed specifically for power wheelchair users. Participants include persons with cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, muscular dystrophy, stroke, spinal cord injury, and other disabilities. Players must be at least 5 years old and able to safely handle a power wheelchair on their own. For more information email powersoccer@CPATHtexas.org.
Inclusive Services
The Round Rock Parks and Recreation Department promotes the power of choice to enhance the quality of life for individuals of all abilities. We do this by providing diverse, accessible recreation in an environment that fosters dignity, success, and fun. Through inclusion services, the department may provide reasonable staff support for those who prefer other Round Rock Parks and Recreation programs and/or activities. To request inclusion services, please call our administrative office at 512-218-5540 at least one month before the start of a program or class to discuss any accommodations that may be necessary.This is a group yoga class for individuals of all abilities. A variety of exercises will be taught including yoga, stretching, balance, and more! The group will follow a main instructor with additional employees assisting the group. Parents/Guardians/Caregiver are welcome to assist. Come in comfortable workout attire and bring water. We can ALL be fit! For ages 13 years and older.·
