Construction is set to begin on a project that will improve mobility along Gattis School Road from Via Sonoma Trail to Red Bud Lane.
Starting Monday, Feb. 2, the initial phase of construction will reduce the roadway from four lanes to two lanes. Traffic patterns will adjust as work progresses and drivers should expect some delays.
This project is part of the City’s continued efforts to modernize the entire Gattis School Road corridor. Gattis School Segment 3, from Windy Park Drive to Double Creek Drive, is on track for completion ahead of schedule in February 2026.
When completed, the project will expand the existing four-lane roadway to a six-lane divided arterial from Via Sonoma Trail to Red Bud Lane. Improvements include a raised median, intersection improvements, additional turn lanes, and pedestrian and bicycle facilities. The project also includes improvements along Red Bud Lane at Gattis School Road.
Construction is expected to be completed in late 2027. The project cost is approximately $23 million.
