Draft comprehensive plan available for online comment

The City of Round Rock invites you to review the draft of Round Rock 2030, an update to the city’s comprehensive land use plan prior to commencement of the adoption process. The Plan is a policy guide and framework for land use decisions for the next decade. Round Rock 2030 highlights how the city has changed over the past decade and creates a vision for this decade.

The adoption process for the plan has been extended due to the impacts of COVID-19, and the online comment period for the draft has been extended through Sunday, April 26. A draft of Round Rock 2030 and the Future Land Use Map are available for comment online via Polco, an online engagement tool.

The public input process for Round Rock 2030 commenced almost two years ago, and the last phase is the adoption process. The plan is scheduled to be presented to the Planning and Zoning Commission for recommendation on May 20 and City Council for adoption on June 25. Both meetings include public hearings; the City currently is providing the opportunity for the public to participate remotely in open meetings in order to advance the public health goal of limiting face-to-face meetings, i.e., social distancing.

Visit roundrocktexas.gov/roundrock2030 to learn more about the plan and input process, or email roundrock2030@roundrocktexas.gov with any questions.
